You're Invited! Join us as we work to restore health to the beautiful North Branch natural areas. We welcome all who care about the preserves. No need to be experienced, the stewards will provide instructions, tools and usually, a snack to enjoy at mid-workday break!
If you plan to bring a group larger than a half dozen or so, we ask that you contact the steward ahead of time, to be sure that the work planned can accommodate a large number of volunteers and that we have plenty of supplies on hand. Click on the workday you’re interested in to get to the page with contact information.

Tracking Chicago Nature
Thursday August 21st, 7:00pm
North Park Village Nature Center
5801 N. Pulaski,
Chicago IL 60646
See our wild areas through the eyes and ears of citizen scientists. Hundreds of people spend thousands of hours each year listening for frogs, looking for dragonflies, identifying rare plants, spotting butterflies, and counting birds. Their collective work has painted a picture of the health of our woods, prairies, and savannas. Hear about the people and the science that are helping to guide our natural areas back to good health. Life—for endangered species, rare habitats and the wildlife that live in them—depends on people! Free, with Dr. Karen Glennemeier of Audubon - Chicago Region.
Tracking Chicago Nature is presented by Friends of the Forest Preserves. For more information or to register contact Benjamin Cox, Friends of the Forest Preserves, at 312-356-9990.
