DESCRIPTION:Harms Woods East\nis a mixture of upland woods\, floodplain and wet woods lying east of the Chicago River. Work at this part of the site began in 2012 with brush removal and seeding of native woodland seeds.The close-by North Branch bike trail offers views of more fine oak woodlands. \nDirections: The meeting place for workdays at Harms Woods East is the Harms Woods South parking lot (Groves 1 & 2) on the west side of Harms Road. DESCRIPTION:Bunker North Flatwoods gets its cathedral-like character from the large old pin oaks that dominate the canopy. Join the North Branch Restoration Project and Centennial Volunteers as we restore this oak woodland to health! This 76 acre site is new to restoration and will depend on the community of volunteers to remove invasive species\, spread native seed\, and much more. The preserve is also home to some beautiful spring ephemerals. \nDirections: Enter the preserve from Harts Road\, just west of Touhy and Caldwell.
