Blue Star Woods

At the center of the site is a nice oak woodland community; the northeast corner has wet oak woods with many sedges still present. Much of this site was heavily used first as a Prisoner of War Camp and then later as a CCC Camp. Many bunkers are still present throughout the site, along with planted trees such as Catalpa and Scotch Pine.

Parking is on Wilmette Ave, east of Harms Road. Walk across Harms Road to the woods at the marked pedestrian crossing.
