Spicebush Woods

Restoration work is just beginning on this beautifully wooded site filled with towering oaks and hickories, wonderful understory of muscle wood and its namesake spicebush, with a lush sedge filled floor. We’ll be clearing buckthorn and pole trees below the ancient oaks to promote recovery of the forest floor fauna.

Park at the maintenance drive to Billy Caldwell golf course on the south side of Caldwell Ave, east of Central Ave. Google lists the address as 6190 N Caldwell Ave, Chicago.
